It's Friday, I'm at home, and I'm bored. What game do I play? Find the car that best fits your needs made by a certain automaker within a set price range. (Long name, eh?)
I thought I could make it multiplayer and get you all involved. Pick any car on the Chevrolet website that comes out under $25,000 and give a reason why you chose that car.
I picked a Sonic RS with a manual (obviously)
Blue Topaz metallic with no other options than a sunroof. Grand total MSRP: $21,032, cheaper than the starting price after an "Open House Discount."
I chose the Sonic because I've heard the RS with it's suspension upgrades is a pretty fun car to drive. Plus I don't haul much more than my girlfriend and the occasional friend, so the size is perfect for my needs.
So what would you pick?

So I cheated a little. But what are you gonna do? That Sonic will never catch my 71' Nova SS.

Base 2013 Silverado. Would be a cool beater, haul all my crap, carry my bikes. Also wouldn't look bad pulling a small fishing boat.
Can be had for less than $25k, possibly even with a V8 after truck month bonuses.

The fact that it's a 2013 means they're gonna be slashing prices in huge amounts, too. You could walk onto the lot and they'd beg you to take the 2013 off their hands.

They should.
For some reason they only show the truck month bonuses for the 2014s in the configurator. Maybe a 4x4 could be had for less than $25k. Then it would be worth it.

I'll take a base Chevy Sonic which costs 14,770 and then I'll buy either an LS engine or one of the small blocks which cost around 6 to 10 grand. So what do I win?

Torque steer. Lots and lots of torque steer.

I pick the Cruze. I think it looks good, and it has two-tone, heated, power leather seats. It's got a sunroof, power mirrors and a 5MT. All in all, for $24K, I think that's a pretty good deal.

Perfectly sensible choice. And that Brick and Black interior looks really classy for an entry level sedan.

Good choice. I wish the blue was available last year. I don't have a sunroof, and I don't miss it.
I played this game last July, and I'd make the same choice. BGM Sonic RS, no options.

You do realize that by limiting us to Chevrolets we must first embrace sadness.

Honestly? I'd get a new Malibu...
for $24,636 It's a great midsize car. Relatively quick, relatively nice-looking, and relatively spacious!
I'd have mine like this:

I spend a lot of time dissing Subies, but really as far as a car that siuts my needs and can be lots of fun I'd have to say one of these, and it has to be this color.

I chose the exact same thing as you, except with an automatic and a sunroof, for a number of reasons:
1. I can't drive a manual and I don't need one for what I am using the car for
2. It will hold a couple of friends my puppy and my random crap quite well
3. Why not option the sunroof?
4. I had already looked at getting one and couldn't afford it
5. The car was made for my age group even though we can't afford new cars
